Catholic Bishops Conference of Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands
The Catholic Bishops Conference of Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands is seeking a qualified and committed Media and Communications Officer to join its team. The role reports to the Secretary for the Commission for Social Communications and involves supporting the Church’s communication and media outreach.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide and maintain communication services through various media platforms including print, audio, video and digital
- Support the Catholic Bishops Conference in delivering its social media strategy
- Organize press conferences, programs, publications and media productions
- Cover events and happenings in dioceses across Papua New Guinea as required
- Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate Manager
Essential Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Journalism and or Media Studies
- Relevant training, skills and experience in media including social media
- Strong English communication skills both spoken and written
- Knowledge of current social, political and religious issues
- Commitment to Catholic values and mission
- Familiarity with churches, faith based organizations, government departments and international partners
