Papua New Guinea joins the rest of the world today to commemorate World Diabetes Day.
The event provides an opportunity to raise awareness of diabetes as a global public health issue and what needs to be done.
This year, the theme is Education to Protect Tomorrow.
World Health Organizations Team Leader - Health Systems Anna Maalsen told the NBC National Radio program that today's celebration also reminds people of the importance of living a healthy lifestyle.
Meantime, diabetes is one of the biggest health threats globally, particularly in the Western Pacific region.
City Pharmacy Limited Group's Head of Pharmacy Pradeep Panda said this when commemorating World Diabetes Day today- Monday 14th November 2022.
Pradeep Panda was speaking on NBC National Radio this morning.
