PNG's Port Moresby General Hospital surges in Covid-19 cases

The PNG's Port Moresby General Hospital has seen a surge in COVID- 19 cases, with positivity rates at 50 per cent in the past week. 


Health Minister Jelta Wong confirmed preliminary reports of an impending surge that took place over the festive period. 

He's reiterated that the best defence against COVID- 19 is to practice the Niupla Pasin and get vaccinated. 

Meanwhile, Prime Minister James Marape also joined his colleague members, Minister Kerenga Kua, Jelta Wong and Governor Allan Bird to receive the COVID- 19 booster and urged everyone to be vaccinated.
