Iarowari Technical Secondary School Students Receive Certificates in First Aid

49 students from Iarowari Agro Technical Secondary School received their certificates of completion in basic first aid this week after completing the First Aid In Schools program earlier this year. In the small graduation ceremony, students received a bag of goodies to take home courtesy of the Sir Brian Bell Foundation as well as their certificates which will assist them when looking for a job.

The First Aid in Schools program, which is a joint initiative between Sir Brian Bell Foundation and St John Ambulance Papua New Guinea covers a range of topics such as snake bite, drowning, asthma and other first-aid topics that will equip students with lifesaving skills should they witness an accident or emergency in their communities.

School principal Mr Andrew thanked St John Ambulance Papua New Guinea and The Sir Brian Bell Foundation for the initiative, “Thank you, everyone, for coming together to roll out this program. And congratulations to everyone”.

Mr Andrew also said this was the first batch of students to graduate from the FAIS program and urged St. John Ambulance and The Sir Brian Bell Foundation to come back to the school to train more students.
