HID1853 – NURSE / CONTACT TRACER
We are seeking to recruit a Nurse / Contact Tracer for our SHSR - Medical Department. Reporting to the Medical Superintendent, the successful applicant will mainly be responsible for assisting with providing professional, confidential, and quality nursing and health care service to all clients to maximize employee well-being, health, and physical fitness
Key roles and responsibilities include:
Attend to and provide relevant, appropriate and standard treatment to all patients and appropriate First Aid application casualtiesAssist with Contract Tracing questionnaire filling and data entries, scan and update information into IBIS / Spreadsheet TrackersTrack contact tracing cases, 72hrs and 7 days as per list and organize to repeat testLiaise with accommodation to confirm persons onsite and re-call persons for contact tracing, inconclusives, and keeping accurate dataCall and notify persons if still not showing for test or inconclusive for repeat testingTrack person’s last test dates accordingly so accurate information for contact tracing retest is emailed outIsolate PUI’s, check and monitor their base-line vitals and refer to the doctor if there is a need for further evaluation if PUI is symptomaticWhen free, assist nurses in the clinic to screen out-patient cases only when all data is updated accuratelyAssist the Medical Superintendent to ensure all masks and sanitization stations in the clinic and PCR Testing area is re-filled and well stockedProvide Daily/Weekly Reports on contact tracing, Total Inconclusives, Positives, etc.Assist the cleaning staff in burning Isolation biomedical wastes when all data is updatedFor any positive cases – active the smart badge list via Brisbane Support (Skye/Melissa) and look for similarities in casesWork with Lab Tech’s to confirm persons who come in for testing and report on the total persons tested per day against IBIS Generated ListAssist in organizing person for vaccinationAssist with data recording of vaccination person, keep IBIS database updated and quality controlledOther standard nursing tasks any other tasks reasonably assigned by the Medical Superintendent
Qualifications, Skills and Experience required:
Minimum Diploma in Nursing plus 3 years post basic Diploma experience practicing as a NurseKnowledge and demonstrated experience in trauma management, triage and infection control and First AidPNG Medical Board or Nursing Board Registered NurseExperience with contact tracing and isolation proceduresHigh attention to detail of medical responsibilities and follow instructions; strict attention to OHS.Ability to work unsupervised, plan, organize, manage time and trainCost-conscious and showing initiative in daily tasks and dutiesProficient computer skillsWell-presented and the ability to professionally communicate in writing and verbally in Tok Pisin and EnglishAdvanced Cardiac Life Support Certificate or willing to obtain one on-siteShould have had at least 1st dose of covid vaccineHaving a PNG Class 3 or 6 Driver’s Licence would be an advantage
The above role is Hidden Valley Mine Site based

Company Description: The Hidden Valley mine is an open pit gold and silver mine, situated in the Morobe province in Papua New Guinea, some 210km northwest of Port Moresby and approximately 90km south-southwest from Lae, the capital of the province. The mine is located at elevations between 2 800m and 1 700m above sea level within steep mountainous and forested terrain that experiences approximately 3m of rainfall per year. The major gold and silver deposits of Hidden Valley are located in the Morobe Granodiorite of the Wau Graben. Crushed ore is conveyed from the Hidden Valley pit via a 3.8km long overland pipe conveyor and is treated at the Hidden Valley processing plant, which uses a two stage crushing circuit followed by a SAG mill, gravity, CCD/Merril Crowe circuit for silver and carbon-in-leach circuit for the gold.
