The Jiwaka Body of Christ organisation is preparing to shoulder the burden to fight the spread of HIV/AIDS.
Provincial chairman and Highlands Regional Christian Leaders Alliance chairman Reverend Simon Sakul said it was about time they took on the responsibility.
Rev Sakul said they would ensure they preached both God’s word and about the dangers of HIV/AIDS in the pulpit to encourage youths not to have unprotected sex.
He said this would help stop sex outside of marriage, adding they were prepared but needed funding assistance.
Rev Sakul said most of the people infected with HIV did not want to show it because the damage had already occurred.
He said the HIV/AIDS plan was there and they would bring them into the respective communities.
“Once we step into Banz town we will make a big difference and we want to bring HIV matter into the pulpit,” he said.
“When youths consume alcohol they have the desire to have sex and they don’t care about spreading the virus and they are taking the risk to have unsafe sex with
unknown partner.”
He said the Jiwaka Body of Christ would draw a red line seriously and next year they carry out a big awareness to encourage the youth not to have unprotected sex.
Senior Pastor Joe Kamb urged the young people that do not have families to abstain from having sex before marriage.
