PNG's Port Moresby General Hospital CEO emphasized the Need for Vaccination against Covid-19

A HIGH NUMBER OF UNVACCINATED PATIENTS ARE HOSPITALISED

A higher number of patients hospitalized at the Port Moresby General Hospital due to Cocid-19 are those who are unvaccinated. The Chief Executive Officer of the Port Moresby General Hospital has emphasized the need for people to get vaccinated against COVID-19.

Dr. Paki Molumi says this is the only way to cut back on the high number of admissions at the hospital, which is putting a lot of stress on the hospital.

He says there have been two deaths, and a total of 145 patients, all of them unvaccinated, have been admitted so far, with 114 at Port Moresby General Hospital and 31 at the Taurama Aquatic Centre.

Dr Molumi told NBC Radio's Dabai Show that presently there are 5 critically ill patients, 30 severe and 70 moderate cases at the hospital.
