The government's decision to bring foreign health workers as come to fruition with three male nurse from Philippines already in the country.
The three nurses are currently working at the newly opened Accident and Emergency Unit at the Port Moresby General Hospital.
Prime Minister Peter O'Neill met the foreign nurses when officiating the opening of the new Accident and Emergency Unit on Monday.
Peter O'Neill says he is happy to see them.
He says there is a shortage of workforce in the country and this arrangement is to fill the gap.
When asked about national health workers terms and condition, Mr O'Neill boldly says the Department of Personal management has been directed to look into their issues but says it will not worked over night.
Other leaders, including Health and HIV AN AIDS minister Michael Malabag, NCD governor Powes Parkop and the hospital executives also met the foreign nurses.
